This is the recommended test for the following types of CSCS card:
- Green Coloured (e.g. Labourer)
- Red Coloured (e.g. Trainee, Apprentice, Temporary Cards)
- Blue Coloured (Most skilled worker cards)
- Gold Coloured (Most advanced craft cards)
Specialists Test
In addition to the health, safety and environmental awareness in the Operatives Test, this also tests for additional specialist knowledge such as working at heights and supervision.
This is the recommended test for the following types of CSCS card:
- Blue Coloured (Some skilled worker cards)
- Gold Coloured (e.g. Supervisor, some advanced craft cards)

This is the recommended test for the following types of CSCS card:
- Black Coloured (e.g. Manager)
- White Coloured (e.g. Academically qualified person, Professionally qualified person)

The practice questions consist of the signs and symbols specified in:
- ISO 7010 – Graphical Hazard Symbols
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations
- Fire Extinguishers
