WHAT DOES THE OPERATIVES TEST CONSIST OF?
The Operatives test consists of 50 questions in two sections:
- The first section contains 38 questions testing your HS&E knowledge.
- The second section consists of 3 behavioural case studies with 4 questions in each case study, giving the remaining 12 questions.

WHICH CSCS CARDS CAN I APPLY FOR WITH THIS TEST?
This is the recommended test for the following types of CSCS card:
- Green Coloured (e.g. Labourer)
- Red Coloured (e.g. Trainee, Apprentice, Temporary Cards)
- Blue Coloured (Most skilled worker cards)
- Gold Coloured (Most advanced craft cards)
WHO IS THIS TEST FOR?
The Operatives Test is designed to ensure that every worker demonstrates a fundamental understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices before they are allowed to enter a construction site.
HOW LONG DOES THE TEST LAST?
The Operatives Test has a time limit of 45 minutes.
