We have pulled out some important highlights of information related to the Specialists Test. But this list is not exhaustive. Please ensure you review the current CITB requirements when revising for your test.
WHAT DOES THE SPECIALISTS TEST CONSIST OF?
The Specialists test consists of 50 questions in two sections:
- The first section tests your core HS&E knowledge – these are the questions that you can practice on this page.
- The second section consists of questions related to your chosen area of speciality. There are 12 subjects that you can choose from, including: supervisory, demolition, highway works, specialist work at height, lifts and escalators, tunnelling, plumbing (JIB), heating and plumbing services, pipefitting and welding, ductwork, refrigeration and air conditioning, services and facilities maintenance. Practice tests for these questions are not yet available on this site.
WHICH CSCS CARDS CAN I APPLY FOR WITH THIS TEST?
This is the recommended test for the following types of CSCS card:
- Blue Coloured (Some skilled worker cards)
- Gold Coloured (e.g. Supervisor, some advanced craft cards)
The card you can apply for will be subject to the speciality you choose to be tested for.
WHO IS THIS TEST FOR?
The core part of the Specialists Test is designed to ensure that every worker demonstrates a fundamental understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices before they are allowed to enter a construction site. The
specialist questions ensure that the worker has a fundamental understanding of the chosen speciality.
HOW LONG DOES THE TEST LAST?
The Specialists Test has a time limit of 45 minutes.
